It is a disease of the nerves that provide the connection between the brain and other structures of the human body. It is classified according to the affected nerves, the characteristics of the affected and the causes.
What is Cranial Neuropathy?
These are the cases where the nerves that go directly from the brain to the relevant organ are affected. Affecting these nerves causes complaints such as facial paralysis, swallowing disorders, speech disorders, visual disturbances and dizziness.
What is Polyneuropathy?
It is a type of neuropathy that occurs when the nerves going to the hands and feet are affected. Influence begins first in the feet and symmetrically. Then, with the progression of the disease, the legs rise upwards, it is observed that the nerves in the hands, arms, around the navel and finally on the head are involved. Depending on the characteristics of the nerves involved, complaints such as burning, tingling, loss of sensation in the feet or loss of strength occur. It usually worsens within months. Cases of acute polyneuropathy that worsen within days are less common. In acute polyneuropathies, rapidly progressive severe paralysis and respiratory distress may occur, and a life-threatening situation may develop.

What is Radiculopathy?
The spinal cord extending through the space in the vertebral column is in the form of an extension of the brain. Nerves leave this structure through the vertebral spaces and go to the target organs. These nerves, which separate from the spinal cord of the medulla, are called radix, which means root in Latin. When they get sick for any reason, it is called radiculopathy. The most common causes of radiculopathy are neck and waist hernias.
What is plexopathy?
The motor nerves leaving the medullaspinalis in the neck, waist and hip regions and the sensory nerves joining the spinal cord to bring sensation to the brain form a reticulated structure. Since this structure is called plexus, disease states are also called plexopathies. Both sensory and motor losses are observed in such pathologies. Plexopathies can occur during birth as well as due to many reasons such as firearm injury, traffic accident, surgery or radiotherapy in advanced ages.
What is Trap Neuropathy?
Nerves to the arms or legs pass through many channels of bone and connective tissue. When they are trapped in this channel for various reasons, a picture of entrapment neuropathy occurs. Depending on the function and region of the affected nerve, pain, numbness, burning and loss of strength may occur. The most common entrapment neuropathy is carpal tunnel syndrome, which is caused by compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. In this case, patients experience numbness and pain affecting the first 3 fingers of the affected hand. Waking up at night with pain and weakness in later periods
